Saint Lucia Overview

Saint Lucia was a beautiful tropical island with plenty to offer for all types of tourists. It was the definition of paradise. We stayed in Saint Lucia for 7 nights and had a truly incredible experience.

Hotel

During our stay we stayed at the St Lucian by Rex Resort on an all inclusive board in a sea view room. The hotel is located in Rodney Bay with its own landscaped gardens on Reduit Beach – currently known the island’s best beach with its fine light sands and picturesque views. The hotel has two restaurants, Mariners Restaurant is used throughout the day for buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking Reduit beach. Whilst the Oriental Restaurant is more exquisite and only open for dinner. You had to pay for this restaurant, even on an all inclusive board. There is also a cocktail lounge and piano bar where the live entertainment takes place. The food was out of this world, with a different theme every night – from a BBQ to an English Sunday roast to local Caribbean cuisine. There is a dress code to adhere for evening meals – smart/casual. Shorts are prohibited.

The staff that worked here made our stay unforgettable. They were a great team delivering amazing customer service. They made us feel so welcome, and were always there on hand if you needed them for anything. Everyone was so friendly, making sure our stay was perfect from start to finish. We spoke to a few other guests and found out that most of them were frequent visitors to this resort due to the staff. If you read the reviews on Tripadvisor, most of them are solely about the service the staff provide and how they make the experience so special.

The location of the resort was perfect, as mentioned previously it is situated on Reduit Beach. The picturesque views were phenomenal with Pigeon Island in the distant background. A few minutes drive away is the famous Marigot Bay that has been frequently used as a filming site, as well as being home to the original Black Pearl from The Pirates of the Caribbean. Gros Islet is also a few minutes away by car, this is where the weekly street festival is held every Friday.

The resort itself was large and spacious, with plenty to offer. There was a small swimming pool accompanied by a jacuzzi, mostly used by families. The hotel has its own gardens with various beautiful plants and flowers with a pathway leading to it’s sister hotel, Pavillion by Rex Resorts. Guests are welcome in this hotel, but for a fee.

Excursions

We were appointed a holiday rep that helped us book all of our excursions for the duration of our stay. Although we were only in St Lucia for 7 days, we booked 3 excursions spread out evenly over the week. We booked to go zip lining in the rainforest, an excursion to Soufriere via jeep and boat and horseriding on the beach. We also spent the day at Pigeon Island, but we navigated the national park on our own rather than with a guide. Which was a contrast to the other excursions. All were amazing, once in a lifetime experiences. If you want to read more, click on the hyperlinks above.

Locals

Everyone, and I mean everyone is so friendly in St Lucia. From cleaners to tour guides and even tourists!! (As you know, tourists aren’t usually too friendly with other tourists. But in St Lucia it was like the polar opposite. I suppose the general way of life out there rubs off on you). Everyone wants to make sure that you are having a great time in their country, they go out of their way to ensure you are happy and having the best possible experience. Even the vendors on the beach, would sit and have a chat with you or simply leave you alone if you don’t want to buy their goods. In other countries we’ve been to vendors are really pushy and don’t leave us alone.

– One day whilst I was getting my hair braided, Elle was waiting outside on the beach and one of the vendors was sat talking with her for over an hour. He made her a dolphin necklace made out of a piece of wood right in front of her, and gave it to her for free!!

St Lucia is a natural paradise filled with once in a life time opportunities and unforgettable people. We plan to visit St Lucia again at some point in the future, and we wish to stay at the same resort, and find new excursions for new experiences in this wonderful country.

Thank you St Lucia, you were amazing, until the next time…

Soufriere Safari by Land and Sea

dscn5318On Wednesday Elle and I embarked on a full day excursion to Soufriere which is situated in the west side of the island. We began the tour bright and early in the morning, with an 8am start. We were picked up from our hotel in an open topped safari Jeep and began travelling down the coastline en route to Soufriere. Along the way our tour guide, Randy, blessed us with his knowledge and incredible facts about the island and its landscapes. After around 40 minutes, we came to our first pit stop. Fresh fruit tasting. Which had been picked the very same day, the fruit was so ripe and juicy. Definitely the best way to eat it! Back to the Jeep, we kept travelling south when we reached a small fishing village. Here, dscn5336we stopped for freshly caught fish tasting. Elle and I aren’t the biggest fans of fish, but we did give it a go. We were pleasantly surprised with the flavours. It was the first time Elle had tried red snapper!

Again, we were back in the jeep travelling south. This time we were stopping and starting due to the picturesque landscapes that people wanted to photograph such as the Pitons, and the Royal Family home where Prince Harry was staying last week. Shortly after seeing the pitons from a distance, we stopped to view the dscn5341waterfalls. But, not only did we get to take photographs, we were able to swim in the pool whilst Randy took photographs for us. The water was ice cold, the floor was filled with uncomfortable stones and the pressure of the waterfall hitting your back was so strong. An experience we will never forget.

Next stop, Diamond Botanical Gardens. An interesting fact about these gardens is that they were built and produced in 1991 in loving memory of the Devaux family. We captured some great shots of the exotic flowers exclusive to Saint Lucia. This is also home to the sulphur springs, we saw what used to be a sauna used back in the 18th Century but is no longer in use.
However, they do have 3 outdoor sulphur springs that you have to pay an extra fee to use. The water was sensational, the temperature you would make for a bath.

Moving along, we came to the Diamond falls, a natural wonder of Saint Lucia. It is argued that this waterfall is the most colourful in the Caribbean, it honestly is a beautiful sight to see. What makes this DSCN5370.JPGwaterfall stand out is that its waters are laced with minerals as its stream emanated from rainwater mixed with volcanism giving the falls a rather colorful appearance that seems to change often. The waterfall is 17 metres high, and is constantly changing colour due to the intake of minerals varying at different times of the year. You used to be able to swim in the pool, but due to the most recent hurricane it has become a health and safety hazard and you’re only allowed to take pictures.

DSCN5386.JPGBack to the jeep, it was only a short drive to our next stop. The Caribbean’s only drive-in
volcano and mud baths. What an experience that was. First, you have to go into the mineral filled natural springs, and submerge yourself up to your neck and pat the water onto your face before covering yourself with with the “mud”. You have to let the mud dry to get the full effects of the minerals working on your skin before you can wash it off. Once you’re dried, back into the springs to wash it all off. I cannot express enough how soft your skin is onceDSCN5390.JPG you’re out, it’s amazing what this natural remedy does to your skin. Once your dried off and fully clothed, we headed up to the volcano, and I must say, the smell was absolutely horrendous. Smelt like 300 year old rotten eggs! However, we found out that if the smell disappeared and you no longer saw the smoke, then there would be mass panic, as this means the active volcano is building up pressure which would lead to an explosion.

Leaving the stink behind, we headed for something more pleasant on the nose, DINNER TIME! Served up was some beautiful chicken and something which can only be described as a vegetable special curry which unfortunately only Els’ mum, myself and Elle can say is the ultimate taste! But I know all 3 of us would vouch for and say it’s a beautiful taste! For dessert was some type of bread and butter pudding, however it was very sloppy and although quite tasty, the texture of it (sloppy) was off-putting so I think the whole group ate it out of courtesy rather than enjoyment! Following lunch, we went on the experience what was described as the chocolate dance… Yes, the chocolate dance! We all got a chance to see where chocolate originates and how it is produced into the bars we find in our supermarkets and I can tell you for free, it’s put into an ugly looking slime and takes A LOT of effort to remove the bacteria from the cocoa beans! Also, someones’ feet has been rubbed all over it, obviously it is thoroughly cleaned and processed before reaching the shelves, but just know that somewhere along the line of production, someones’ feet have been all over it… Plus, it is a process which takes a very long time to complete so thank the lord for fair-trade and after seeing the production of it, we can be sure that fair-trade chocolate will be the only chocolate we buy in future! We were also given the chance to see 100% cocoa which although too rich to eat, smells absolutely delicious! (Unfortunately we didn’t take any photographs).

dscn5412Leaving behind our new experience, we headed onto our next destination… The Catamaran! We were absolutely in awe throughout the final part of our excursion. Setting off right underneath the Pitons we managed to get some beautiful views! Leaving the port we headed off into the open sea. Making a brief stop to allow some snorkeling, we dived in and what amazing sea life! Being in open water, we were able to see schools’ of many different fishes, Abi also catching sight of a sea snake, which I am very jealous of as I’d swam off following some multicoloured fish! Gutted!

Hopping back onto the boat, we managed to catch the sun going down as we headed into Marigot bay which famously appears in many dscn5435movies, including the original Dr Doolittle film! Doing a 360 turn, we began our journey back into the Marina port where we ended
our trip! Although being a boat ride, before we arrived in port with the rum flowing (not to mention the free drinks!) everyone on the boat took part in dancing to some Caribbean Reggae which quickly got everyone into a party vibe! Arriving in the Marina, we were sad to see the end of our tour! 100% one of the best days ever!

Coming soon; horse riding on the beach and flying to Grenada to meet my Dad after 8 years of being apart!!

Ultimate three…

Yesterday, we embarked on an exhilarating excursion to divulge in 3 activities in the protected rainforest close to the Castries. The activities included an Aerial tram through the rainforest canopy, zip lining and a short hike on the forest floor. I suppose we got an added extra, but we’ll tell you about that later…

dscn5027We were picked up from our hotel at 8.25am, after a short scenic drive we arrived at the rainforest around 9am… Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Trisha and Jeffory who were our guides for the adventure. We also met Tara and Ian, another couple who were on their honeymoon and looking to do something rather eccentric so this excursion was ideal! dscn5030
Loading up the gondola (aerial tram) saw myself and Elle at the front, Jeffory followed, leaving Ian, Tara and Trisha in the back. Although the journey up there was slow and steady, we were intrigued to learn that the Saint Lucia is home to poisonous scorpions, tarantulas and snakes… Of course, not to leave out the forever biting mossies!

Leaving the canopy we embarked on a small trek learning facts about the rainforest and the plants and animals that live within. We saw chocolate in its raw form, growing high up in the trees, a chestnut tree with roots growing large and flat, and a fruit that has fiberglass hairs inside that cause excruciating pain and itchness when touched. Coming towards the end of our first hike, we came to our first platform for zip-lining. Watching dscn5060Elle and Tara fly down, the nerves were flowing through me, being afraid of heights was something that I’d have to overcome… However, once being linked up to the wire and taking an imaginary seat, off I flew down the line. Simply wonderful. Yes, I did look down but it was only to my own surprise, due to being within the trees, it actually didn’t look too far down, despite being over 300ft in the air. We took around 7 or 8 zip-lines winding through the forest, learning about the different plantation, trees and wildlife along the way.

Okay, so something which is a definite once in a lifetime opportunity, on our 6th zip-line, we all flew down one after the other, with Trisha following last… Once she’d unhooked herself she made us all aware that there was a HUGE tarantula nesting on the tree which we were all surrounding, bare in mind that the space we were in was just about big enough to fit all 6 of us on, therefore no matter where we were, we were close to the female spider which was now running ferociously around the tree! Our guide, Trisha, even admitted that it was the biggest that she had ever seen therefore we knew it wasn’t something to be taken lightly! We had all volunteered Elle to go first down the next line before realising that we were being accompanied, therefore Elle managed to escape first, but shortly followed by each of us! Obviously seeing this was such a shock to the system, but inspecting the tarantula lead to us seeing that it was a blacky, brown colour with a white hairy tinge… but, the most impressive part was that it had pink furry tipped legs! I say impressive but EW! None of us aboard that platform were keen on spiders, let alone learning that we were being hustled off by a big hairy tarantula! May I add, that during the gondola ride one of the ‘facts’ we were told was that Saint Lucia is home to venomous tarantulas…

After zooming down from the spider, we headed onto our final zip-line, commencing at 540ft long, we whizzed down for what seemed like forever, absorbing the scenery and embarking on the breath-taking views. We all stopped for a photo after andscn5085other short hike in front of one of the tallest trees there, a gigantic chestnut tree. No photo nor video could capture the heights which we were at and finally landing on our feet still didn’t feel as if we were quite on the ground floor! Taking the gondola back down to sea level, we experienced some views which were out of this world. Although the sky wasn’t clear enough, from the top you can see the neighbouring island Martinique on a clear day. Despite this, we still managed to see the Atlantic ocean from our height and with a 40x optical zoom camera Abi also managed to get some footage which was invisible to the naked eye! Throughout our zip-lining experience Abi also managed to get some excellent GoPro action videos from up in the air, credit to Jeffory for being able to provide the correct clip-on attachment to the safety hat, otherwise we’d have had to of said goodbye to the GoPro for our first adventure!

dscn5112Arriving back on flat terrain we quickly found our feet again after settling with a passion-fruit punch and browsing the gift shop. We were picked up shortly after and arrived back at our hotel. We grabbed a quick lunch which consisted of vegetable pizza, cheese toasties and rice (the combinations which all-inclusive allows!) Shortly after we grabbed our snorkels and headed down to the beach to top up our tan and had a dip in the sea. This was the first time we actually managed to snorkel properly.

The swimming lessons paid off because we chased a crab with the GoPro underwater after I scared it shouting for Elle to bring the GoPro over to film it rather than the transparent fishes which she were trying to capture on the camera. Managing to get some good footage, we quickly realised that the crab was actually in the water and could now be anywhere, therefore taking carefully considered steps in the water!

A day to remember! A day that will stay with us for the rest of our lives! A day which only by chance we managed to catch some amazing views, see some amazing and scary animals and a day that will forever be in the top 10 best days ever!

Today will be spent sun-bathing and snorkeling so that we don’t look like 2 British tourists who have just arrived on the island! Also in store for the rest of the week, we have booked an all-day excursion to Soufriere to experience local fishing villages, the drive-in volcano, natural sulphur springs and mud baths, followed  by a sunset catamaran ride back to the Marina.

Check in with us soon!

Being broke was worth it…

We thought 8 hours on a train was bad but at least you have leg room, usually a wide table and throughout Europe even your own compartment. On a plane however, none of the above exist…

An 8 hour flight with a broken entertainment system was an agitation to every nerve in our bodies, however I suppose 8 hours is next to nothing when you step off the plane and into that humid heat. Worth every dying minute! Okay, I want to say that I didn’t mind the length of the flight and as I’m okay with flying, it seems I’m obliged to say it was a good flight. Abi on the other hand, I must admit didn’t let on too tough that she was getting frustrated but on landing and arriving into the airport made it very clear that she didn’t enjoy it at all and also that she didn’t appreciate the couple next to us who wouldn’t stop staring… Do we have something on our faces?

Alright, we now needed to find out whether or not our hotel and transfers were legit – (we booked with destination2) – and were low key expecting some hiccups along the line due to this not being a ‘mainstream’ company… Getting questioned in customs put me on edge first though! “Are you supposed to be carrying 200 cigarettes?” So, I know I smoke quite a lot but I certainly know there’s nothing that I’ve done wrong… Turns out, it was just my young looks which were the issue as neither of us apparently look a day over 18. After checking our passports to verify our age, off we set to legitimise our booking…

Walking through into the arrivals we quickly realised that everything was falling into place. The booking was LEGIT! Elbitravels 1 Scammers 0. We highly recommend destination2.com when looking to travel to St Lucia as booking via this company saved us at least 170EC (Eastern Caribbean Dollars) on airport transfers alone and an extra unknown amount on our hotel (I will insert the link when I manage to get onto a computer).

The 2 hour transfer took us through the city centre, the rainforest and alongside another local airport before dropping us at St Lucian by Rex Resorts – first impressions… WOW! We are finally in paradise, all those hours at work were finally worth it, being broke every month was now totally worth every penny. The complimentary welcome drinks also went down a treat!

We were shown to our room by a bell boy which personally I have never experienced and lugging two 23kg suitcases was the bane of my life following the travelling we had done so we certainly are grateful to this guy!

Abi has never tried an all-inclusive package holiday so this was a new experience in ways too. She quickly learnt the works of it when we went down for dinner and enjoyed some beautifully jerked BBQ chicken, complimented by exotic fruits for dessert and rum punch to swill it down!

Call us weak because it was only 7pm but we went straight up to bed and slept through until 5:30am. Although cutting us slack, it was 11pm in our head/GMT.

Breakfast begins @ 6am which consisted of jam and pancakes and lots of locally produced bananas! I can honestly say that I have never tasted a banana so beautiful in my life! Who knew a banana could be so good?! I ate 3 I think… One after the other! I really want the love heart eye emoji here because that accurately describes my relationship with those bananas! I digress…

Turning 7am the temperature had already reached 23 degrees celcius which was breath taking, literally due to the humidity!

We had been on the beach no more than ten minutes before our first haggle, we were being roped into buying an anklet which bless the guy, Robert, he sat on the beach and handmade it whilst we told him we’d be back within an a few hours to consider buying it. However with no intention of spending our money, we forgot only to walk into him after we’d been for a swim! Talking our way out of it a second time was easier than expected, a simple no thank you works wonders!

We ventured off up and down the white, sun kissed beach hitting on Facebook live and taking many camera shots! We also did a little snorkelling and underwater filming with our new GoPro which has caught some brilliant footage!

Being on an island like St Lucia it is very easy to forget sun cream as it is very cloudy but the heat doesn’t let off so no matter what, keep that sun cream topped up!

Coming up to midday we met with our holiday rep, Nadia, who booked us in for horse-riding, zip-lining, the mud baths and a boat excursion. Totalling up to around £500 for both of us seems a lot but for 2 full day excursions and a 2 hour horse ride, it works out at a reasonably good price. We had also specifically saved for these beforehand as we researched into what we wanted to do whilst we were here.

Tomorrow we head out at 9:30am to begin our first trip, so keep an eye out for our next blog post which will entertain as Abi is scared of heights and we’ll be high in the trees for most of the day!!

Stay tuned…

The real countdown begins…

With just 13 hours to go until our flight departs we have already boarded over 6 trains and checked in to 4 different places via Facebook. Despite the chaos we have endured today, we have saved ourselves the aggrevation of last minute checking bags in, last minute ‘SH*T! We’ve forgot…..’. The early decision by Abi to arrive the day before at Gatwick was definitely a life saving one! Lugging 22kg suitcases onto tube trains and around London would’ve been a hassle that no one could take lightly. Choosing to stay at The Premier Inn @ Gatwick North Terminal has saved us having to wake up and travel on the day of our departure, however after working out the travel times without making this decision we wouldn’t have actually made our flight at all!

Luckily all is well and the hotel is very welcoming! The rooms are provided with free tea and coffee so we don’t even need to leave our room until morning. The rooms are all a standard £55 per night which is relatively cheap considering that it is housing 2 of us. A cheeky little tip to throw in would be to take food or a pack up with you for this day of travel… After not doing this and arriving at the airport hotel, the only place to get food is at one of two places, both of which are excruciatingly priced! I think we paid around £30 for 2 burgers, chips and 2 drinks which speaks for itself.
We also weren’t prepared for a £60 dent in our wallet, when we checked the remaining flight seats before checking-in to our flight we soon realised that the only remaining free seats were situated in single seats, consequently without paying £60 we would have been sat at 2 ends of the plane. Knowing how difficult it is to fly with bad ears, this is something I have done once before and given the choice wouldn’t want to do it again. As a result, £60 later we have 2 seats next to one another… And to Abis’ delight, we also have a window seat rather than an aisle.

Moving away from prices and costs, the hotel room itself boasts a very large comfy double bed, a very bouncy sofa type bed, a bath/shower and TV. Small and simple but exactly what you need! We have already asked for extra tea and sugar which is complimentary and therefore must be taken advantage of. We also have an awesome view of the airport and planes landing and taking off from the North Terminal in Gatwick.

With a 5am start tomorrow I should probably get some shut eye and prepare ourselves for a 9 hour flight. We depart from Gatwick @ 10:05am and arrive at St Lucia @ 3pm (St Lucian local time).

Stay tuned for our updates throughout the next month which will be coming in hot and hectic following the plans we’ve got in store!

Caribbean; Travel essentials

With just 23 days to go until we’re in sunny Saint Lucia, we thought it would be a great time to share our travel essentials with you. We have already packed the majority of suitcase, with a few last minute items to put in. The excitement is starting to set in as the countdown goes down.

Airport Essentials

Travel documents: These are the most important items you need for your trip. Passport, flight ticket, airport transfer papers etc. Make sure these items are packed somewhere safe but easily accessible.

Travel insurance is the second most important essential for our Caribbean trip. We have bought an annual policy for a couple for just £35 on gocompare.com. Which is great value for money. This policy covers you for up to 35 days per trip for 1 year, which is great for us as we like to travel a lot.

Well-packed carry on. Your carry on should contain essential items for the first 24 hour of travel time. This includes a change of clothes and shoes, toiletries, travel documents and definitely a bikini. With international travel there is a window of opportunity that your luggage could be delayed,  make sure you are well-equipped for this.

Clothing for Caribbean islands

Light and airy clothing; the average temperature in the Caribbean is 27 degrees all year round.

Dress codes; in the Caribbean there are moral standards of clothing and etiquette. Revealing clothing isn’t considered appropriate in these islands unless it’s time for carnival. Typically in restaurants and resorts there is a dress code to adhere to. Women should wear long dresses/skirts or trousers with a formal top. Due to this we have packed a number of maxi dresses, light trousers and a few co-ords.

Day to day activities; dresses, shorts, skirts and loose tops are essential for a Caribbean getaway. Think ahead of what activities you plan to do, loose and light clothing would be ideal for hiking.

Comfortable shoes; we have packed a variety of shoes for our getaway to accommodate for all activities we wish to pursue. Sandals, hiking boots and of course, heels.

Plenty of swimwear; as I’m sure you’re aware, the Caribbean is very humid which makes drying out your swimwear could take a while, and we all know there’s nothing worse than putting on a wet bikini. We have packed around 5/6 bikinis each.

Jackets; you’ll need a light jacket for evenings, once you’re immune to the Caribbean weather you’ll really start to feel the chill on an evening. Considering the Caribbean is filled with tropical country, it is a must to have a rain-jacket or at least something that is waterproof. It tends to rain at least once a day! Between us we have packed approximately 5/6 jackets.

What not to pack; there are a few items you should take off your packing list if you’re going to visit the Caribbean. Skimpy or revealing clothing is highly inappropriate in most places. Heavy clothing or dark clothing will make you sweat buckets. Camouflage clothing is strictly prohibited and even illegal in some areas.

Protection

Sun lotion; it’s inevitable that you’ll burn at one point or another during the trip, but better safe than sorry! We have bought factor 30 Piz Buen sun lotion, Elle absolutely loves this brand and won’t buy anything else.

Aloe Vera; as I said previously, no doubt you’re going to get burned. May as well pack some aloe vera lotion to ease the pain, rather than buying it out there double the price!!

Mosquito repellent; for me, this is one of the main essentials as I am prone to being bitten. I have scars from interrailing to prove that. We have bought a large bottle of repellent and a few wrist bands. No doubt I’ll buy thing whilst I’m out there to put around the hotels to keep them out! I’m taking every precaution!!!

Sunglasses/hats; fairly obvious, but definitely important. We have each bought a straw hat, I’ll probably buy another one whilst I’m out there, and 2 pairs of sunglasses each.

For the beach

Beach towels; it is best to pack your own beach towel, as some hotels may charge a daily fee if you use theirs. It works out cheaper to have your own. We bought new beach towels for this trip, and we’re in love with the designs.

Snorkel gear; the Caribbean is a great place to go snorkelling, we plan to go to the underwater sculpture park in Grenada. Did you know that Grenada is home to the first underwater sculpture park in the world? Although we haven’t gone full out with the gear, we do have the face mask and the snorkel, flippers are really a necessity.

Extras

GoPro; probably in our top 3 of essentials, our GoPro Hero 4 Silver. We want to capture everything and to document our trip. We have also purchased a bundle pack which includes, a selfie stick, tripod, chest mount, head strap etc.

Polaroid camera; for instant still of perfect moments. This is an item I just couldn’t leave at home. We have purchased 50 shots, which enables us to take 1 to 2 photographs per day.

Digital camera; okay, I know it seems like we’re going overboard with the cameras but there is a completely logical explanation. GoPro – for videos, time lapses and to go underwater. Polaroid – instant stills, instant memories. Digital – mainly for scenic photographs, way better quality than our phones and who doesn’t want photographs to remember their trip?

Make up; okay, so probably not considered an essential, especially for Elle. But, who doesn’t want to look and feel great on holiday? Obviously I’ll only really wear make at night when we’re going out; I don’t want to mess up my sun tan! I’ve ordered the Bh Cosmetics 120 Colour Eyeshadow Palette 2nd Edition, which has beautiful bright colours, great for the tropical getaway.

Reading material; considering we are going to be in the Caribbean just short of 5 weeks, there will be lazy days. What better than to lose yourself in a book on the beach? We haven’t planned which books we’ll be taking as of yet, we’ll probably buy them at the airport.

Toiletries; shampoo, conditioner, lots of hair product to control the frizz, toothpaste etc. The list for toiletries could go on forever, but here are our essentials; wax, hair mousse, leave-in conditioner, hairspray, moisturizer and the items mentioned above.

So, there you have it. Our list of essential items for our tropical getaway. It is almost inevitable that you will leave something behind, let’s just hope it isn’t something essential like the GoPro!!
